Hi, I am Jonathan! I work for Real Ideas, go by the title of Head and Learning and Skills, and am a founding member of Badge Nation. I have been at Real Ideas for more than 11 years and love my work of solving problems and creating opportunities in the world of learning skills and employability.
Before Real Ideas I lived and worked in London, Torquay, Liverpool, and Exeter, working mostly for FE Colleges as a lecturer, programme Co-Ordinator, and Department head – I have always loved being part of individuals’ learning, growing, and achieving stuff. Although hugely respectful of formal education and accredited learning, I have always been frustrated that the qualifications did not recognise every achievement of the individuals I worked with.
Like everyone at Badge Nation, I believe Badges are the answer! After discovering them I am a full-on badge convert – now spending most of my time encouraging people to join the Nation and get their badge on.
